We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Animal Health Lab team. You will be joining the Operations & Service Group and reporting to the Animal Health Laboratory Team Leader.
About the role
The role is based in Riverlea, where there is free onsite parking. We also offer flexible working hours and are more than happy to discuss flexible start and finish times to suit your lifestyle.
Your role will responsible for preparation and testing of bovine tissue, blood and semen samples for Animal Health testing. Alongside this you will maintain the operation of the laboratory within the required ISO standards, including but not limited to the maintenance and calibration of the laboratory equipment. Your key focus will include:
• Preferred to be a KTP under the IANZ 17025
• Programme and subject matter expert within Diagnostics, responsible for authorising test results or reports before release under ISO17025 standard
• 2IC - Providing leadership and making confident decisions to support the Lab and the Team Leaders
• Assist with development of new test methods when required. Troubleshoot technical issues under the guidelines of Animal Health Manager
• Champion the quality and document management systems in the lab
About You
We are looking for an experienced commercial laboratory technician who will not only be technically skilled in ELISA and PCR but well versed in ISO7025 quality system. Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot effectively are essential to be successful in this role. A tertiary degree in Science would be an advantage.
You will possess agility, flexibility, resilience, excellent communication and collaboration skills, empathy for our clients with a strong focus on customer delivery.
