Join Our Team – Help Farmers Unlock the Potential of Their Herds
At LIC we are proud of our contribution to the New Zealand dairy sector. Our vision is to improve the prosperity and productivity of New Zealand farmers; and we want great people to join us on our journey.
About the role
We’re looking for a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team, someone who understands the day-to-day realities of dairy farming and wants to make a real difference on-farm.
As the face of LIC in your region, you’ll be a trusted advisor to farmers, helping them make informed decisions that support the long-term success of their herds and businesses. Your focus will be on building strong, genuine relationships with dairy farmers, helping them make smart, informed decisions that will benefit their herd, their business, and the environment.
Working as part of a supportive and dynamic team, you’ll report to a Senior Agri Manager and contribute to our wider business goals. You’ll have the drive to meet your sales targets, but you’ll do it the right way – by listening first, understanding your farmers’ goals, and offering solutions that truly fit.
What you'll bring
- A good understanding of dairy farming and the challenges farmers face today.
- Passion for breeding dairy cows and how it can improve herd performance.
- Strong planning and time management skills – you know how to stay organised and get things done to meet operational deadlines.
- Confidence in using digital tools and Microsoft applications to manage your accounts and reporting.
- A team mindset – you enjoy working alongside others who share your values and energy.
- A proactive, consultative sales approach that builds trust and long-term relationships.
- Curiosity, drive and be ready to make a difference.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong, trusted relationships with a group of farmers, supporting them with genuine care and professionalism.
- Helping farmers make breeding decisions that align with their herd goals, business objectives, and long-term success.
- Managing your portfolio with strong time management skills, utilising planning tools and software to stay organised and on track, while ensuring all activities are completed on schedule and in line with business objectives
- Meeting sales targets in line with LIC’s sales process – focusing on identifying genuine opportunities that add value to each farm.
- The role is primarily about driving sales, while also providing support where needed.
- Developing and executing strategic plans for your portfolio, adapting your focus throughout the year to align with LIC’s goals and ensuring the right activities are carried out at the right time to achieve your objectives.
In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive some great benefits including:
- Extra leave days
- Flexible working options
- Discounted health, life, income and disability insurances
- Access to our employee shares scheme
- Wellbeing discounts
- Flexible working
To thrive at LIC, you'll be someone who values meaningful relationships, is open to learning, and embraces change with a positive mindset. You'll take pride in working alongside a team that’s driven by our core values – Integrity, Innovation, Spirit of Co-operation, In Tune, and Passion – and you’ll reflect these in the way you support our farmers and each other.
If you want a role where your knowledge of farming and passion for genetics can make a real impact, and you’re excited to work in a high-performing, collaborative team – we’d love to hear from you.
