About the role:

This role sits in the Operations & Service Group, which is made up of LIC's Herd Testing, Artificial Breeding, Diagnostics, Farms Management, and FarmWise teams.

Reporting to the Laboratory Team Leader, this role is responsible for analysing milk samples and preparing test day reports, ensuring that National Herd Test Standards are met. Test results are reported back to clients, so accuracy and efficiency are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse milk samples using robotics & automated equipment
• Verify results & prepare test day reports ensuring quality standard 17025 is met
• Obtain 17025 key technical personnel status
• Assist the team leader with training and provide ongoing assistance as required
• Manage the day to day operation of the laboratory in the absence of the team leader
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team

About you:

As herd test results are used for critical decision making by our clients, you will have a keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills to meet deadlines. Being a strong team player with excellent communication skills and having a positive "can-do" attitude are an absolute must. You will be reasonably fit as lifting & standing is required.

During our peak season (September - mid May) you must be able to work rotational shifts.
