About the Role:
The AB Supervisor in a key member of the Operations & Service Group and reports directly to the Regional AB Operations Manager (RABOM). This team is
responsible for the strategy of keeping our people safe and for delivering on the promise we make to our customers.
Operations & Service is made up of LIC’s core production laboratories, farming operations and the field teams (AB and Herd Testing) who deliver LIC’s product on farm.
This seasonal fixed term role is responsible for the supervision of Artificial Breeding Technicians in an Feilding/Whanganui region. Your role ensures the smooth efficient running of Artificial Breeding Technician groups. To support and ensure performance of Artificial Breeding Technicians to the agreed standards set by LIC.
Your Key Focus:
- Attend and participate in AB Seminars. Share the latest developments with the team; making yourself available and approachable to give information and advice to the team.
- Plan and execute call cycles to visit each AB Technician and assist with mating plan management.
- Supervision, coaching, training and feedback - be a strong leader who encourages performance in a positive way.
- Quality control - ensure technicians meet all standards including presentation, farm dairy routine, technique, hygiene, vehicle condition etc.
- Obtain and monitor Technicians Non-Return Rates - and report as required.
- Public relations - Maintain great relationships both with and between Farmers and Technicians.
- Gear Collection - Assist AB Operations with collection of AB great from Technicians, including Premier Sires DIY gear.
- Assess AB Facilities - complete hazard assessments of all AB facilities visited and record details on ipad. Discuss safety options with farm staff and Technicians.
- Assist RABOM with wider group activities as required.

- Highly experienced in artificial insemination of cattle
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent time management and planning ability
- Strong focus on Health & Safety and delivering a quality AB technician service
