About the role:
As an Agile Coach at LIC, you will work across a group of cross-functional teams that belong to the Data & Analytics value stream.
You will work closely with the Data team, coaching them to foster an environment of continuous improvement and autonomy. As a peer to the leadership, your coaching will focus on ensuring the teams and leaders adopt Agile practices that sustain themselves, allowing them to remove obstacles, manage dependencies, and keep the group focused on delivering value. Your role is to foster an environment where group and team members can work effectively, collaborate positively, adapt to changes, and continuously improve.
To be successful in your role, you will draw from lean and agile principles, and apply them with a focus on empowering people to achieve business outcomes. Experience with the Shape Up methodology is highly desirable. You will need a solid understanding of how software products are built, and a passion for coaching others and facilitating teams to build the right thing in the right way.
Ultimately, you will work with your teams to grow agile maturity and self-sufficiency, increase collaboration and communication, and help facilitate and foster the growth of high performing teams that deliver real value for our farmers and our business.
About you:
As an experienced Agile Coach, you’ll have a proven ability to guide teams, leaders, and organisations through Agile transformation, embedding sustainable ways of working and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll be adept at building trust, enabling autonomy, and aligning delivery practices with strategic objectives — all while supporting LIC’s dynamic data and analytics environment.
To ensure your success, you will demonstrate:
Senior-level Agile coaching expertise, with proven experience coaching at team, leadership, and organisational levels
Hands-on Agile experience, with the ability to facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, and empower self-organising teams
Deep knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP; SAFe familiarity advantageous) and the benefits of different principles and practices
Familiarity with Shape Up methodology and its application in delivery environments (highly desirable)
Experience in data and analytics environments, understanding data-driven product development, data engineering, analytics, and BI delivery cycles
Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence, including conflict resolution, fostering psychological safety, and balancing directness with empathy
Excellent facilitation, communication, and influencing skills, capable of articulating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders and achieving buy-in through persuasion rather than authority
Proven ability to build collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team cultures, both remote and in-person
Adaptability and resilience in navigating ambiguity, evolving priorities, and complex delivery environments
Outcome-oriented focus, with the ability to measure and report improvements in team effectiveness, delivery maturity, and value to stakeholders
A commitment to continuous improvement, staying up to date with industry trends and driving practice evolution across teams
Commercial and organisational awareness, including a general understanding of delivery, go-to-market methods, metrics, business planning, and budgeting processes
As a naturally calm and collaborative leader, you will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will champion vision and strategy, help teams connect their work to organisational goals, and leave behind a self-sufficient culture that continues to improve long after your engagement.
In return:
In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive some great benefits including:
