About the role:
As an LIC Senior Agri Manager in Southland, you’ll be the vital link between our innovative herd improvement solutions and the farmers who rely on them. You’ll champion customer relationships, drive sales performance, and bring the voice of the customer into everything we do. This role is about making a real impact, helping farmers optimise their livestock, grow sustainable businesses, and shape the future of dairy farming in New Zealand.
Key focus areas include:
- Management and supervision of the Agri Manager and/or Agri Relationship Manager team members that report to you.
- Setting, achieving and reporting against targets for this group.
- As a Senior Agri Manager you will support the Territory Manager in coaching other Agri Manager’s within your team and acting as a Subject Matter Expert.
- You will play a key leadership role and ensure your Agri Manager and/or Agri Relationship Manager teams are working together to achieve the best outcomes for LIC and our customers with regard to the solution selling model.
- Responsible for the effective implementation of the LIC solutions and services programme and the achievement of sales targets/expectations in your area.
- Maximise relationships with existing customers and actively build relationships with new customers. This includes contacting customers at least once a year and visiting all new customers within two months of arriving on farm.
- Support initiatives undertaken by both the Sales Innovation and the wider LIC.
About You:
Making connections and building relationships will come easily to you, and you'll genuinely enjoy customer interactions. Having a background in dairy would be advantageous, but most importantly, you'll understand and empathise with the unique challenges our farmers face and build trust and credibility with them.
You'll be able to use data and insights to make effective decisions, and you'll use this information to come well-prepared to your customer visits.
You'll also demonstrate:
- Results focused with a proven track record of selling, with a key focus on building and maintaining relationships, in particular in support of an outbound calling model.
- Understanding of LIC products, services and solution selling.
- Understanding of the dairy industry, our shareholders and their current and future needs.
- Previous management of people is preferred.
- You will have sound business knowledge with an enquiring and analytical mind; along with successful fiscal management skills.
- Specific skills in leadership, behavioural flexible communication, influencing and negotiation.
- You will be able to use sound business principles in the management and resolution of problems.
- Tertiary qualification in this field is advantageous.
- Confident and effective communication skills.
- Planning and time management capabilities.
