About the role:

Officially called a Farm Technician this role is responsible for assisting with livestock farming and semen collection requirements. This is not the role for a new entrant to the industry – our bulls are used to being handled, but they are still bulls – heavy, strong and unpredictable – one of the key things we’re looking for is someone with strong cattle stock sense – you need to have some understanding of how these boys think!

This is an exciting and varied role, and some of the key aspects of your day-to-day role will include

• Working as part of a team that handles bulls of all age groups.

• Great animal husbandry including identifying sick animals and reporting promptly to the supervisor or veterinarian

• Training and development of the bulls so that they can be handled and led ready for semen collection

• Teasing and handling of bulls before they are collected to ensure maximum volume & concentration from each collection

About You:

In addition to someone who has demonstrated stock sense our ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills, a clear understanding of workplace health & safety, a high level of fitness & energy, and be a great team player.
