LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.
As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.
About the Role:
As part of LIC’s International Group, you will report to the International Manager and help drive LIC’s activities outside New Zealand. This team delivers insights, genetic improvement and global scale to support innovation across the business.
In this role, you will work with diverse cross‑functional teams to ensure our offshore markets receive the right products and services to meet their needs. You will contribute to growing our international product and service portfolio, and support the development of marketing strategies, budgets and promotional material that build awareness, create new opportunities, and strengthen LIC’s commercial presence in global markets.
Your Key Focus:
Work closely with the International Product Manager and in‑market teams to ensure each market has access to the most suitable genetics, continuously improving offerings by staying across evolving AE proofs.
Manage international supply and demand planning, coordinating with Operations to ensure timely processing and availability of product for both EU and non‑EU markets.
Collaborate with Centre Vets, Farm Managers and the Genetics Production Operations Lead to ensure high‑quality bull teams are available for selection, and oversee the certification and documentation required for export.
Support the development of promotional material—such as catalogues, bull photos, data updates and website content—in partnership with the International Marketing Team and Market Managers.
Work with LIC Business Managers and Market Managers to develop new products and services, ensuring each market has access to the most relevant and commercially valuable offerings.
Investigate semen quality issues raised by markets, distributors or customers, preparing formal reports with insights, findings and recommendations.
Your Skills & Experience:
Affinity for and knowledge of numerous International dairy industries (including New Zealand) is preferred.
A high level of understanding of or experience in the bovine artificial breeding industry, and experience with AE data.
You will have sound business knowledge, experience in managing targets, forecasting and operations planning.
A high level of interpersonal, persuasive and sound communication skills, both within the organisation and in dealing with external stakeholders.
Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
Strong excel experience.
Sound knowledge or experience in planning, development and implementation of markets supply requirements.
In Return:
Based 10 minutes from Hamilton, in a semi-rural location, the role provides the opportunity for a lifestyle change for those seeking a better work -life balance and wanting to escape the 'rat race' and cost of living in bigger cities. Alternatively, we are open to flexible and remote working arrangements.
In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive some great benefits including:
Extra leave days
Flexible working options
Discounted health, life, income and disability insurances
Access to our employee shares scheme
Wellbeing discounts
Free onsite parking
Our Hamilton office is located in a park-like setting, with tennis court, pool, and onsite café and social club!
The role provides the opportunity to join a progressive and forward-thinking agri-tech organisation, where you'll play a key role in driving the future of dairy in NZ and around the globe.
