About the Role:
As part of the Products team and reporting to the Head of Genetics, you’ll play a key supporting role across our Genetics portfolio. While supporting the Product Managers you will develop skills and experience that will enable you to grow into a subject matter expert, providing the Sales and Marketing teams with the product knowledge and support they need to deliver effective go‑to‑market strategies and campaigns. You’ll also use customer and market insights to support Product Managers and R&D in developing new genetics products and improving existing ones. Working closely with Product Managers, you’ll coordinate stakeholder requests and ensure work is delivered efficiently through established processes.
Your Key Focus:
Product Support
As part of the LIC’s Genetics products teams you will be providing frontline and escalation support for sales queries. Help ensure customer success by strengthening understanding of product value and assisting sales teams in communicating benefits to customers.
Product Adoption & Education
Work with Product Managers, Sales Capability, and Marketing to deliver go‑to‑market activities and campaigns. Provide training and educational content to internal teams and customers to drive product adoption and deepen product understanding.
Customer & Market Analysis
Conduct customer research and market analysis to inform product development and improvement. Stay current with industry trends and gather insights that support data‑driven decisions across the Genetics portfolio.
Product Delivery
Produce clear analyses and reports that support customers in adopting and using our genetics products. Use these insights to guide customer decision‑making and strengthen product uptake
About You:
You’ll bring the following skills and experience….
Product Management:
An understanding of the principles of product management, as well as practical experiences working on product development as an analyst, researcher, designer, or in related sales or marketing functions.
Ability to figure out solutions to hard problems using data, logic, and the assessment of risk.
Analytical Skills:
Ability to demonstrate a proficiency working with data to get insights and aid decision making.
Competent with basic statistics, modelling, and other forms of business analysis.
Experience with analytical or modelling tools such as Excel or SQL (beneficial).
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills that can be deployed to advance a position and influence others.
Presentation skills, and confidence communicating ideas to diverse groups of people in both formal and informal settings.
Dairy Industry Knowledge:
You will have experience in the dairy sector and can demonstrate an understanding of on farm needs when it comes to herd improvement through artificial breeding.
While you may not have worked with Bull Selection, you’ll bring a strong science understanding and the ability to quickly learn the genetics aspects of the role, enabling you to engage confidently with stakeholders on topics relating to animal breeding.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualified with a relevant degree in either agri‑business, business, marketing, or a related field, plus at least two years’ relevant experience.
