LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.
As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.
About the role:
As an Agri Manager at LIC, you’ll be the vital link between our innovative herd improvement solutions and the farmers who rely on them. You’ll champion customer relationships, drive sales performance, and bring the voice of the customer into everything we do. This role is about making a real impact—helping farmers optimise their livestock, grow sustainable businesses, and shape the future of dairy farming in New Zealand. This role sits in the Wellington/Hawkes Bay Pod and covers the Tararua to Hawkes Bay area.
Key focus areas include:
- Maximising relationships with existing customers and actively building relationships with new customers.
- Successful implementation of LIC solutions and the achievement of sales targets in your area.
- Identifying new business opportunities with existing and new customers.
- Undertaking educational and promotional initiatives with farmers.
About You:
Making connections and building relationships will come easily to you, and you'll genuinely enjoy customer interactions. Having a background in dairy would be advantageous, but most importantly, you'll understand and empathise with the unique challenges our farmers face, and build trust and credibility with them.
You'll be able to use data and insights to make effective decisions and you'll use this information to come well-prepared to your customer visits.
You'll also demonstrate:
- Strong self-motivation and ability to work autonomously and proactively manage your day.
- Be results-focused with a track record of achieving great sales results.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, internally and externally.
- Great problem-solving skills and ability to match solutions to customers.
- Confident and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- A tertiary qualification in this field is advantageous.
In return:
In addition to a competitive salary, plus incentive bonus and company car, you'll receive extra leave days, flexible working options and discounted health, life, income and disability insurances. You'll also get all the tools to make you successful, including phone, laptop and ipad.
You'll have the support of an office-based support person, who will provide the ad-hoc support you need, with things like admin, data, campaign work, etc. The team you are joining are a great bunch, who will make you feel very welcome and well-supported.
This is a great opportunity to join an organisation driving the future of dairy in NZ.
