About the role:
We are recruiting a Laboratory Technician to join the team in one of our Artificial Breeding Operational laboratories through the peak production season for the European market. No experience is needed - Full training will be provided.
Reporting to the EU SCC and Laboratory Manager, this role is an entry level position with a focus on the processing and analysis of bovine semen, laboratory hygiene, data entry and stock control while working within critical quality and health and safety guidelines and European export protocols.
This is a 5-month fixed-term position, from January 2026 through until approx. end of May 2026. Based at the LIC European Centre in rural Awahuri, 15 minutes north of Palmerston North.
Days of work and hours may vary based on work availability, but you will be guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours per fortnight. We operate 5 days a week starting at 6:30am
About You:
We are seeking candidates who possess the below attributes:
- Excellent computer skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Time management skills
- Neat and tidy handwriting
- Can do attitude
The ability to work within critical quality and health and safety guidelines and EU export protocols is essential. Willingness to learn, be flexible and carry out a wide variety of tasks is also important.
A science background and /or laboratory experience is desirable but not essential.
