LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.
As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.
About the role:
This is a senior sales support, administration and customer relationship role, where you'll work closely with Senior Agri-Managers who deliver Customer on-farm analysis, advice and recommendations to meet their farm business goals and challenges and provide them with data-driven solutions to add value to their farms. The role is responsible for the Regional Accounts portfolio in the Lower North Island area, where there is significant opportunity, and you will be well supported to achieve great results. The main depot in the lower North Island is in Palmerston North; you can choose to base yourself there, or alternatively we are open to considering hybrid flexibility.
Key focus areas include:
Supporting Senior Agri Managers to deliver bespoke analysis and service support to our corporate, multi-farm and large farm customers.
Successful implementation of LIC solutions and analysis to support the achievement of sales targets in the Regional Accounts portfolios.
Identifying opportunities and innovations to maximise business relationships with our existing and new customers.
Assisting with specific and seasonal dairy campaigns to meet operational objectives.
Undertaking educational and promotional initiatives with farmers and rural professional groups when required.
About You:
Making connections and building relationships will come easily to you, and you'll genuinely enjoy our team and customer interactions. Having a background in dairy would be advantageous, but most importantly, you'll understand and empathise with the unique challenges our farmers face and build trust and credibility with them along with the rest of the Lower North Island team.
You'll be able to develop excel spreadsheets and use data and insights to assist the Regional Accounts team in their preparations for on farm meetings so that the dairy farm decision makers can make well informed decisions for their operation.
You'll also demonstrate:
Strong self-motivation and ability to work autonomously and proactively manage your day.
Be results-focused with a track record of achieving timely support leading to great sales results.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, internally and externally.
Great problem-solving skills and ability to match solutions to customers.
Confident and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
A tertiary qualification in this field is advantageous.
In Return:
In addition to a competitive salary, plus incentive bonus you'll receive extra leave days, flexible working options and discounted health, life, income and disability insurances. You'll also get all the tools to make you successful, including phone, laptop and ipad.
The team you are joining are a great bunch, who will make you feel very welcome and well-supported.
