LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.
As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.
Your Role:
As part of the Operations & Service Group, you’ll report to the National On Farm Support Manager and play a critical role in delivering safe, high‑quality services to our customers.

Proactively manage health and safety risks on farm, on the road and in the workplace
Build capability through effective induction, coaching, training and assessment
Ensure accurate and consistent shed setup instructions for all dairy sheds in your area
Work closely with NZM and Diagnostics teams to support DNA sampling programmes
Identify opportunities to grow On Farm services, improving customer experience and creating work for staff
Support on‑farm activities as required, with a strong focus on mentoring and quality delivery
Your Key Skills & Experience:
Proven people leadership experience, ideally with geographically dispersed teams
Strong understanding of the dairy and farming industry
Experience in workforce and resource planning
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A customer‑first mindset with strong problem‑solving ability
Well‑developed organisation and time‑management skills
Confident computer skills across MS Office and internal systems
Knowledge of Herd Testing services (desirable)
Practical experience in on‑farm activities such as herd audits, DNA sampling, animal handling, tagging and weighing
In Return:
In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive extra leave days, flexible working options, discounted health, life, income and disability insurances, access to our employee shares scheme, wellbeing discounts, free onsite parking, an employee assistance programme, plus more!
