We usually respond within two weeks
LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.
As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.
Your Role:
This role sits within LIC’s Operations & Service Group and reports to the Data Analyst Team Leader. The team plays a critical role in delivering on the promises we make to our customers. You’ll be responsible for producing accurate parentage matching and test results, delivering these clearly and reliably to customers, and resolving customer queries related to laboratory reports.
Your Key Focus:
Supporting the Data Analyst Team Leader and wider team
You’ll play an active role in supporting the Data Analyst Team Leader by contributing to production targets and KPIs, while modelling and promoting LIC’s culture, values, and strategic goals. You’ll help create a positive, engaged team environment where quality and collaboration matter.
Delivering accurate, trusted results to customers
You’ll take ownership of producing high‑quality parentage matching and genetic test results that customers can rely on. This includes following data analysis protocols, applying sound judgement, preparing and checking reports for approval, and ensuring validated data is accurately uploaded to LIC systems (including MINDA). You’ll also proactively identify and resolve data or process issues, helping maintain the integrity of New Zealand’s national parentage database.
Managing customer queries, quality and continuous improvement
Working closely with customers, CRM teams and internal stakeholders, you’ll help resolve results‑related enquiries in a timely and professional manner. You’ll support escalated decision‑making where needed and contribute to quality management, ISO 17025 requirements, and Kaizen continuous improvement initiatives — helping strengthen processes, resolve system or matching issues, and improve how the team delivers its work.
Your Key Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an analytical, science‑based environment.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Clear and effective writing and presentation skills.
General knowledge of laboratory processes and procedures (advantageous).
Hands‑on experience with word processing, spreadsheet, LIMS and database software.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including working with large data sets.
Experience in process analysis, implementation and process control.
Ability to communicate confidently with customers and resolve enquiries or complaints effectively.
Experience working in an ISO 17025 environment (preferred).
Functional knowledge and experience of health and safety legislative requirements.
In Return:
In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive some great benefits including:
Extra leave days
Flexible working options
Discounted health, life, income and disability insurances
