Join LIC as an Agri Relationship Manager in Palmerston North: empower dairy farmers with data-driven insights, build trusted partnerships, and support a thriving rural NZ.
We usually respond within two weeks
LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.
As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.
About the role:
This is a sales support, administration and customer relationship role, where you'll support the Lower North Island Agri-Managers who deliver Customer on-farm analysis, advice and recommendations to meet their farm business goals and challenges and provide them with data-driven solutions to add value to their farms.
Key focus areas include:
Supporting Agri Managers to deliver bespoke analysis and service support to our Farmer customers.
Successful implementation of LIC solutions and analysis to support the achievement of sales targets in the Lower North Island Account portfolios.
Identifying opportunities and innovations to maximise business relationships with our existing and new customers.
Assisting with specific and seasonal dairy campaigns to meet operational objectives.
Undertaking educational and promotional initiatives with farmers and rural professional groups when required.
About You:
We are seeking a motivated, office-based administrator who enjoys building connections and relationships. You’ll thrive on customer and team interactions and contribute positively to a collaborative environment.
A background in the dairy industry would be advantageous; however, most importantly, you’ll understand and empathise with the unique challenges farmers face. You’ll be able to build trust and credibility with customers and the wider Lower North Island team.
You will also:
Be confident using the Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel, and able to develop spreadsheets and use data to generate insights
Support the Agri team in preparing for on-farm meetings, enabling dairy farm operators to make well-informed decisions
You'll also demonstrate:
Strong self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously while proactively managing your day
A results-focused mindset, with a track record of providing timely support that contributes to strong sales outcomes
The ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to match solutions to customer needs
Confident and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
A relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
In Return:
In addition to a competitive salary and incentive bonus, you’ll receive extra leave days and access to discounted health, life, income, and disability insurance. You’ll also be equipped with all the tools you need to succeed, including a phone, laptop, and iPad.
You’ll work alongside another Agri Relationship Manager in the Palmerston North office. The team is supportive, welcoming, and committed to helping you succeed.
