LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.
As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.
About the role:
Agri Manager - South Waikato - 13 Month Fixed Term (Parental Leave Cover)
Are you Interested in spending your days working alongside farmers, helping them improve their herds and getting real satisfaction from seeing the results?
We're looking for an Agri Manager to join the team for a 13-month parental leave cover opportunity.
You'll inherit an established customer base, work with a supportive team and have the backing of a great administration team to support and help you succeed.

Make good herd improvement decisions.
Get value from LIC products and services.
Identify opportunities to improve herd performance.
Plan for mating and reproductive success.
Solve challenges and connect them with the right LIC expertise.

Along the way you'll build strong customer relationships, grow new opportunities and contribute to sales and business targets for the area.
What we're looking for...
We're looking for someone who enjoys getting alongside people and making things happen.
You don't need to know everything about herd improvement from day one, but you will need:
A genuine interest in helping farmers succeed.
Strong relationship-building skills.
Confidence having on-farm conversations and listening to what the farmer wants.
Good planning and organisation.
A willingness to learn and ask questions.
The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
Dairy industry knowledge would be great, but attitude and curiosity are just as important.
Why this opportunity?
This role gives you the chance to:
Build your commercial and customer management skills.
Deepen your herd improvement knowledge.
Work with a wide range of farming businesses.
Grow your networks across LIC.
Learn from experienced Agri Managers and technical specialists.
Make a genuine difference for farmers every day.
Most importantly, you'll be joining a team that supports each other, shares knowledge and enjoys celebrating success.
If you're looking for your next challenge and think you'd enjoy helping farmers achieve better outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
