LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.
From our people to our products and services, every aspect contributes to the LIC experience. Our promise is an extraordinary customer experience. We are a world leader in pasture based dairy genetics and herd management and we are guided by our primary focus of delivering value for our farmer shareholders.
Here at LIC we have people who are passionate about what they do and are experts in their field. We embrace a culture of accountability and agility. Our people share an affinity with farming and our shareholders.
About the Role:
You will play a pivotal role in lifting the quality and consistency of on-farm decision-making by designing and embedding scalable Product and Herd Improvement capability across LIC’s sales network. You will be instrumental in translating complex insights, product knowledge, and behavioural data into practical, repeatable systems that enable high-quality, consistent field conversations.
This role shifts capability from individual coaching to structured, scalable learning systems that drive real on-farm behaviour change. While not directly managing a team, you will work cross-functionally with Product, Herd Improvement, CX, and Sales teams to deliver capability uplift at scale. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, thinks systemically, and is passionate about turning insight into action.
Your Key Focus:
Designs and embeds scalable capability systems that turn product knowledge, herd improvement expertise, and behavioural insight into consistent, high quality on farm conversations. Develops modular learning experiences aligned to farmer decision cycles and equips Agri Managers and Sales Leaders with practical tools and coaching approaches that drive behaviour change at scale. Works cross functionally to ensure insight is translated into field capability, aligns all initiatives to business strategy, and embeds data, cohorts, and propensity modelling into execution. Owns onboarding and continuous learning to lift capability over time, while defining and tracking clear measures of success that link learning to behaviour change, adoption, and commercial impact.
Your Skills & Experience:
A relevant degree alongside strong experience designing and delivering structured learning or capability programmes using adult learning principles, ideally in commercial or agricultural contexts. Skilled at simplifying complex technical concepts into practical, repeatable frameworks that drive uptake at scale. An effective communicator and collaborator who can influence across teams, align capability initiatives to business strategy and customer outcomes, and work independently in dynamic environments. Comfortable applying behavioural insights, cohort models, and data to inform real-world action.
In Return:
Based 10 minutes from Hamilton, in a semi-rural location, the role provides the opportunity for a lifestyle change for those seeking a better work -life balance and wanting to escape the 'rat race' and cost of living in bigger cities. Alternatively, we are open to flexible and remote working arrangements.
In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive some great benefits including:
Extra leave days
Flexible working options
Discounted health, life, income and disability insurances
Access to our employee shares scheme
Wellbeing discounts
Free onsite parking
Our Hamilton office is located in a park-like setting, with tennis court, pool, and onsite café and social club!
