About the role:
The Animal Health Technical Manager is a newly created role in our diagnostics team. Based in Riverlea Hamilton and reporting to the Diagnostics Manager, your role will be responsible for managing all technical processes for existing products within the Animal Health laboratory, as well as coordination with R&D on technical development of new methods/products and providing technical direction for the Animal Health Business.
Your key focus:
- Maintain accuracy and performance of Animal Health tests.
- Provide technical support in the troubleshooting of commercial tests.
- Oversee commissioning and validation of new tests and equipment.
- Manage laboratory systems to meet MPI and IANZ 17025 standards, including performing the role of Key Technical Personnel (KTP).
- Collaborate with R&D and the Animal Health Manager to develop and implement new commercial tests, techniques or equipment.
- Stay current with technical advances in Animal Health diagnostics.
- Promote technical excellence within the Diagnostics business unit.
About You:
- Hold a postgraduate degree in molecular/biological sciences
- 3–5 years’ diagnostics lab experience
- Knowledge of ELISA and PCR
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Data modelling and analysis experience
- Experience with operational implementation of new diagnostic tests
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
